Using these simple sentences, you can introduce and cement in the minds of the reader some key ideas or concepts in your research paper.Transition phrases are so effective because they maintain the flow of your paper. You are not forcing a change in your reader's mind but instead helping them to associate new knowledge with some past information in your paper. If you do not use transition phrases effectively, your research paper will be slow to settle into place and will lack clarity as a result.Your transition phrases should not be too complex but should make the reader think. The end result should be to introduce your topic or ideas in a way that introduces the concept in a simple and clear manner.Start your transition phrases with the 'I' verb. Most of the time, we have an introduction and a conclusion and transiti on sentences which contain the words 'or'and.' The 'or'and' style is very easy to remember and is often an indication of 'to or from' as well as 'into'.A 'then' is used as a transition phrase to show that your research paper will continue in a certain direction. The 'or' style is easy to type and is usually short and to the point and can be incorporated into your paper quite easily.All transition phrases should use short sentences. This will allow you to add only one or two types of sentences to your transition phrases without creating a huge block of text that blocks the flow of your paper.As you begin to work on transition phrases, keep in mind that your transitions will be more effective if you 'hide' certain sentences within the main body of your paper. While you do not want your reader to lose the connection between the two sentences, the longer the transition sentences, the less likely it is that your reader will lose the connection.Transition phrases are used in so many diffe rent forms in research papers. Remember, they help to bring your papers to life by connecting different ideas.
